What Is Stop the Bleed and How Can It Help Our Community?

Established in 2015, the Stop the Bleed program is a program motivated by the 2012 Sandy Hook School shooting and other tragedies that have occurred in the following years. It was created to properly inform all civilian people of how to handle situations with major injuries. This is an active program in 95 countries.
Every staff member in our school district has completed this course as well as many other of your community members. Join in on the many who have already completed the course.
We hope that we are never placed in a situation that this knowledge is needed but it’s important to have just in case. In this world we live in, you can never be too sure if you’ll be one to find yourself in a dire situation. It can happen in a public setting like a mass shooting, you may find yourself as the first one on scene of a major accident. What ever the situation, Stop The Bleed prepares you. It is important that as many people as possible survive their injuries in the event of trauma. Uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable deaths from trauma.
You can help save a life by knowing how to stop bleeding if someone, including yourself, is injured.
To sign up for the 45 minute class, contact Jodi Fries or Toby Fries at Texas EMS at (817) 279-1408 or email at jalvey@mytexasems.org.
