Welfare Check Results In Drug Charges

Welfare check nets drug arrest

On Friday, June 9th around 5pm, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the 2300 block of Lipan Hwy. in reference to a welfare check of a male sleeping in the vehicle.

Deputies located 32 year old Andrew Scott Strey, who was in possession of over a gram of meth and several prescription pills without a prescription (trazodone and gabapentin).
Strey was arrested and charged with
Man/Del of a Controlled Substance (felony 2-bond $20,000) and Possession of a Dangerous Drug (class A misd-bond $2,500).

Strey is currently in jail at press time.
