Wear a Mask to School!

by | Aug 21, 2020

Please help us keep Granbury ISD schools open and students learning. Wearing a mask (or gaiter) helps everyone limit “close contact” exposure and keeps students and staff at school.

Per the Hood County Public Health Authority, face shields and masks with exhalation valves and vents are not recommended for students and staff to protect against COVID-19 “close contact” exposure at school.

“Close contact” generally means being within 6 feet of an infected individual for at least 15 minutes without a mask or face covering. So, if students or staff are wearing a mask and are exposed to a positive COVID-19 individual, they are not necessarily considered “close contact” and required to self-isolate for up to 14 days.

Teachers may still wear face shields for instructional purposes if maintaining six-foot distance from students in the classroom.
