Warrant service yields drug charge

On 5-30-18 around 530pm, Hood County
Sheriff’s Office Deputies were at the 3000
block of Elmwood Dr trying to serve an
arrest warrant.
The subject they were looking for was not
there.
Deputies did have an encounter with Dustin
James Pickett (27 yoa), who was in
possession of under a gram of meth and
tried to toss the meth in an attempt to hide
it from Deputies.
Pickett was arrested and charged with
Possession of a Controlled Substance (state jail felony-bond $5,000) and Tampering with Evidence (felony 3-bond $7,500).
Pickett is currently in jail at press time.
