Veteran’s Charity President arrested
On 6-26-22 around 2pm, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Douglas Lee Pruitt (56 yoa) at the 5600 block of Matlock Rd. on two Hood County Sheriff’s Office warrants for No Registration Statement to Solicit for Veterans (class B misd-bond $1,000) and No Surety Bond (class B misd-bond $1,000).
The charges stem from several complaints the Hood County Sheriff’s Office have received from citizens who were concerned with the practices of Pruitt raising money for veterans and not filing the proper paperwork with the Texas Secretary of State.
The financial case is still under investigation and if you donated money to any of his charities for a specific reason or specific veteran and your wishes were not honor, please contact the Hood County Sheriff’s Office, and relay the information.
Pruitt is currently in jail at press time.
