Two Vehicle Accident Results in 1 Fatality on FM 2580

MINERAL WELLS – On 8/22/2020 at approximately 8:45 a. m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a two vehicle fatality crash on Farm-to-Market Road 2580 in Hood County.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 2016 Toyota Corolla, driven by 30-year-old Gage L. Jenkins of Granbury, was traveling north on FM 2580. For an undetermined reason, the Toyota crossed into the southbound lane of travel and struck a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on. The Toyota spun and came to rest in the northbound lane. The Chevrolet, which was towing a flatbed trailer, left the roadway and overturned before coming to rest in the barrow ditch. Jenkins was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, Cody A. Reed, 35, of Granbury, was transported to a Fort Worth area hospital with undisclosed injuries.
