Two Men Arrested After Resident Calls in Armed Robbery

On 11-25-2020, Granbury Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence on Stone Street for a report of an armed robbery. The victim reported that two white males entered his house, struck him on his head with the butt of a handgun, and both subjects pointed handguns at the victim. The suspects stole several firearms from the house as well as the victim’s cell phone. One of the suspects was quickly identified as 30 year old Richard Anthony Metten Jr. of Granbury. The second suspect was subsequently identified as 40 year old Chad Eugene Lawson of Granbury. When Lawson’s vehicle was stopped, the victim’s cell phone was found in the truck. They were both ultimately arrested for Aggravated Robbery, a 1st Degree Felony. Lawson was arrested in Granbury and Metten was arrested in the San Angelo area by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Lawson was also booked for Possession of a Controlled Substance (State Jail Felony), Possession of Marijuana (Class B Misdemeanor), and a traffic offense. Lawson posted bond and was released from the Hood County Jail and Metten is currently being held in the Tom Green County Hail
