Suspect with warrant tries to flee Deputy
On 2-8-22 around 3pm, Investigators from the Hood County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit conducting a warrant service at Mulberry Dr. and Crestview Dr. on Eric Stone Layton (28 yoa), who has an assault (class A misd-bond $3,500) warrant out of Hood County.
During the encounter Layton tried to run off and resisted Deputies during the arrest.
No one was injured and Layton was eventually hand cuffed during the incident.
Layton was charged with Assault on a Peace Officer (felony 3-bond $15,000), Resisting Arrest (class A misd-bond $3,500), and Evading Arrest (class A misd-bond $3,500).
Layton is currently in jail at press time.
