Update on stolen rescue fire truck The Hood County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have modified 2 charges on Ethan Mac Dobelbower (19 yoa). Initially, Deputies were told Dobelbower had removed the fire truck 3 times, but after further investigation it was determined Dobelbower drove the fire truck 2 times. Dobelbower is being charged with 2 counts of Burglary of a Building (state jail felony- bond $5,000), 2 counts of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (state jail felony-bond $5,000), and 1 count of Theft (felony 2- bond $20,000).
Previous information: On 11-16-21 around 6pm, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the Tolar Fire Station on West Hwy 377 ref. a stolen rescue fire truck. Deputies discovered Ethan Mac Dobelbower (19 yoa) allegedly gained entry into the fire station without permission and took a rescue truck for a drive three different times on 11-15-21 and 11-16-21. On the third occasion Dobelbower left the rescue truck at the Tolar Elementary School Campus where Deputies located the vehicle. Dobelbower was eventually located on foot and arrested and charged with 3 counts of Burglary of a Building (state jail felony), 3 counts of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle (state jail felony), and 1 count of Theft (felony 2). Dobelbower will be arraigned by a Judge on 11-18-21 and is currently in jail at press time. The case is still under investigation and investigators are still determining if any items at the fire station or vehicles were damaged by Dobelbower.
