Suspect Arrested For Evading and Drugs
On 5/25/19 around 4pm, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies observed a vehicle speeding on DeLeon Dr. and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver later identified as Joe Nathaniel Leyva (26 yoa) refused to pull over and led Deputies on a short car chase. Leyva eventually pulled over at the 6900 block of Tin Top Hwy. Leyva was found to be in possession of under a gram of meth. Leyva was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle (felony 3-bond $15,000) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (state jail felony-bond $5,000). Leyva is currently in jail at press time.
