Shooting victim dies at hospital

On 9-18-18 around 1030am, Hood County
Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a
shooting at the 8900 block of Cattle Drive
Ct.
Deputies discovered Michael Wayne Healy
Jr. was at the Cattle Drive Ct. location
causing a disturbance with his wife, who
was staying with family members.
During the incident, Healy tried to run over
a 34 year old family member with a vehicle.
The 34 year male, who was trying to protect his family, fired a fatal shot from a 12 gauge shotgun striking Healy in the stomach. Healy was air-lifted to a hospital in Ft.
Worth where he was pronounced dead
from his fatal wound.
No arrest has been made at this time and
the case is under investigation by the Hood
County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas
Rangers.
