Roadside confrontation lands 2 in jail

On 4-7-18 around 630 pm, Hood County
Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a
fight in progress at the 7600 block of Hwy.
377 West in Tolar.
Deputies discovered Billy Joe Garcia (47
yoa) allegedly used a baseball bat when he
confronted a 23 year old male he knows
walking down the highway.
During the argument Garcia’s girlfriend,
Sherry Goodnight Reese (48 yoa) allegedly
tried to run over the male victim’s 33 year
old female companion.
No one was injured during the incident.

Garcia was arrested and charged with
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
(felony 2-bond $20,000) and Unlawful
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (felony
3-bond $10,000).
Reese was arrested and charged with
Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
(felony 2-bond $20,000).
Both are currently in jail at press time.
