Overdose Results in Charges

Suspect: Brandon Austin Edwards (20 years old)

On Wednesday, 09-28-2022 at about 7:53 PM, Deputies with the Hood County Sheriff’s Office responded to report of an overdose in about the 9400 block of Hwy 377 East, Cresson, Hood County, Texas. Upon arriving on scene, Deputies found Texas EMS was transporting the overdose victim to Lake Granbury Medical Center. 

During their investigations, Deputies spoke with Brandon Austin Edwards who informed them that his 18 year old friend had overdosed on Fentanyl that Mr. Edwards had provided to him after Mr. Edwards purchased the Fentanyl in the Metroplex. As the investigation continued, Mr. Edwards admitted to being in possession of several Fentanyl pressed pills. Deputies later checked on the overdose victim and learned he was still alive and being treated by medical staff at Lake Granbury Medical Center.

Based on this information, Brandon was booked into Hood County Jail for: 

– Attempted Murder – 2nd Degree Felony – Bond $50,000.00

– Manufacture / Deliver Controlled Substance PG 1-B >1g<4g, 2nd Degree Felony – Bond $50,000.00

– Manufacture / Deliver Controlled Substance PG 1-B <1 gram, State Jail Felony – Bond – $10,000

Mr. Edwards is still confined in the Hood County Jail.​
