Over the last 2 weeks the Hood County Sheriff’s Office – Street Crimes Unit (SCU) conducted Operation Leftovers taking 6 individuals into custody on an array of charges. This operation was the result of a 6-month investigation into local narcotics trafficking in and around Hood County. The person’s arrested in this roundup are listed below. Some of the charges include Possession of a Controlled Substance, Obstruction or Retaliation and Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
This investigation targeted individuals responsible for selling and distributing illegal narcotics in Hood County and surrounding areas. Additional charges and arrests are expected as this investigation continues to unfold.
In January of 2021 Sheriff Roger Deeds created the Street Crimes Unit to combat illegal narcotics, violent crimes, felony thefts and all types of trafficking offenses in Hood County. Year to date, the Street Crimes Unit has recovered several illegal or stolen firearms and numerous stolen vehicles. The SCU has apprehended many wanted and/or violent persons, executed numerous search warrants and recovered hundreds of grams of illegal narcotics to include; methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and fentanyl. This year the SCU has seized over $70,000 dollars in illegal narcotic proceeds and made over 110 felony arrests.
The Hood County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the United Stated Marshall’s Office – North Texas Fugitive Task Force, Hood County Crime Stoppers and the 355th District Attorney’s Office for their assistance in Operation Leftovers.
