On Sunday, 10-24-2022, Hood County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist Brazos River Authority to search for Justin Lynn Hassell, who had out of county felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest, after Justin ran from BRA Officers at the DeCordova Bend Dam Park and into the Brazos River Authority Restricted Area, where they were able to setup a perimeter quickly.
Upon Hood County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit arriving on scene, the K9 unit was able to narrow the search area resulting in a Deputy locating and taking Justin into custody after finding him hiding in a group of trees within the perimeter that had been established. Justin is currently in the Hood County Jail charged with the following:
- Burglary of Habitation Warrant (2nd Degree Felony) – No Bond
- Assault causes Bodily Injury – Family Violence Warrant (Class A Misdemeanor) – Bond $3,000.00
- Interfere with Emergency Call Warrant(Class A Misdemeanor) – Bond $3,000.00
- Criminal Trespass (Class B Misdemeanor) – $1,000.00
