Husband Shoots Wife During Argument
On 9-6-19 around 6am, Hood County
Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the
800 block of Port’s O Call Dr. in ref. to a
shooting.
Deputies discovered Russell Wayne
McDaniel (56 yoa) allegedly shot his 53-
year-old wife with a 410 shotgun during an
argument.
The victim was transported to the Lake
Granbury Medical Center where she was
treated and released.
The victim had superficial wounds, where
the shotgun pellets grazed her left side and
is in good condition.
McDaniel was arrested and transported to
LGMC with chest pains, where he refused
treatment.
It was discovered at the jail that McDaniel
had taken multiple pills to committed
suicide, so he was transported back to
LGMC.
McDaniel was later sent to JPS Hospital in Ft
Worth and as of press time is still there
being treated for the overdose.
McDaniel was charged with Aggravated
Assault with a Deadly Weapon (felony 2-no
bond) and Unlawful Restraint (felony 3-no
bond).
