House Fire Results in One Injured and One Fatality

At 5:11 a.m. on Monday, January 14 a call came in to dispatch for a residential structure fire on the 800 block of Meadowlark Ln. Agencies responding included Granbury VFD, Tolar VFD, North Hood County VFD, Station 70 VFD, DeCordova VFD, Cresson VFD, Hood County Fire Marshall’s Office, Texas EMS, Granbury Police Department, and City of Granbury utilities. Salvation Army was on scene assisting the fire departments.

They have now all-cleared the scene. One person made it out of the structure and received medical care. The remains of one person were recovered from inside the structure. Judge Gwinn has ordered an autopsy.

Circumstances of the fire are not believed to be suspicious; cause of the fire is being investigated. The Tarrant County Arson Task Force is on scene assisting the City of Granbury Fire Inspector and Granbury Police Department with the investigation of the cause and origin of the fire.
