Hood County Jailers Save Suicidal Inmate

On 11-17-18 around 2pm, the Hood County
Sheriff’s Office jail staff conducting inmate
checks discovered Blake Michael Viss (28
yoa) in the process of attempting suicide by
hanging.
Jail staff cut Viss down and started CPR
along with calling an ambulance.
Viss was transported to LGMC and later
transported to a hospital in Ft. Worth
where he is listed in stable condition and
expected to survive.

Quote from Sheriff Roger Deeds;
“I’m proud of my jail staff, which did their
job and saved a man’s life, who had found a
permanent solution for a temporary
problem.”
