Granbury– On Monday August 27, 2018 at approximately 1:00 pm, the Texas Highway Patrol was notified of a two vehicle head on crash on US 377, 2 miles east of Granbury near Rock Crusher Hill in the west bound lane at mile marker 326.
A 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Pick Up Truck, driven by Tammy Lanier, 51 of Cresson was traveling east towards Cresson when for an unknown reason she lost control of her Truck and traveled north across the center median and up a small hill and into the west bound lanes of US 377. A 2017 Ford F 250 4×4 Pick Up Truck, driven by Charles Andrew Heimer, 42, of Granbury was traveling west bound on US 377 in the outside lane. Heimer was struck head on by the Dodge Pick Up Truck. The Dodge Truck then struck the rock wall on the north side of US 377 and caught fire. The driver, Tammy Lanier was not wearing her seat belt and was pinned inside the Truck on the passenger side when it caught fire. The fire was extinguished and Lanier was taken to Lake Granbury Medical Center in serious condition where she was flown by Air Ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth.
The Ford Truck traveled off the north side of the roadway for approximately 600 yards, through a fence and stuck a large tree in a field just north of US 377. The Driver, Andrew Heimer was pronounced deceased at the scene by Justice of the Peace Cotton Howell.
The crash is still under investigation.
