STATEMENT OF GISD SUPERINTENDENT DR. JAMES LARGENT REGARDING ARREST OF FORMER GRANBURY HIGH SCHOOL
October 27, 2017
Granbury ISD superintendent Dr. James Largent issued the following statement:
Kirby Chase Vineyard, a former agricultural science teacher at Granbury High School, was arrested by local law enforcement and charged with criminal solicitation of a minor. Granbury ISD does not believe that the incident involves any physical contact with students.
GHS administrators learned of the allegations regarding Mr. Vineyard on Thursday and immediately referred the matter to the Hood County District Attorney’s Office. At that time, Mr. Vineyard resigned from Granbury ISD.
The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority at Granbury ISD. If any student or parent has any information related to the matter, please contact the District Attorney’s Office. Additionally, GHS will make counselors available for any student who wishes to discuss this matter.
GISD will continue to cooperate with the law enforcement and appropriate governmental agencies.
All other inquiries should be directed to the District Attorney’s office.
