Finally A Break In The Case Of William (Bill) Moore’s Disappearance

August 22, 2018

Finally a Break in the Case!

On 8-8-18 DPS Divers recovered a man and
his vehicle that was missing from North
Richland Hills that was located in the Trinity River at Loop 12 in Dallas Texas.
During the dive a Dodge pickup was
discovered in the water that belonged to
William Moore (83 yoa), who was reported
missing on 3-10-12 to the Hood County
Sheriff’s Office.
On 8-21-18 DPS divers returned with the
necessary equipment and were able to pull
the Dodge pickup from the Trinity River.

A partial skeleton was discovered in the
truck believed to be William Moore.
The remains were sent to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination and DNA testing to confirm if the remains are William Moore.
The DNA testing could take months before
we can confirm it is in fact William Moore.
Since 2012, Hood County Sheriff’s Office
Investigators, Texas Rangers, and a Hood
County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Unit have
followed leads and searched multiple
locations searching for Mr. Moore.

William Moore’s family has been notified of
the high probability of the remains being
William Moore.

Investigators close to the case believe the
death appears to be an accidental drowning and ruled out any foul play on the
unfortunate death.

Quote from Sheriff Roger Deeds;
“We are relieved and thankful with the
discovery by the DPS Dive Team and hope it gives the family of William Moore some type of closure in this sad tragedy”
