On October 7, 2019 at approximately 6:30 p. m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to a two vehicle crash in the 6800 block of Farm-to-Market Road 2580 in Hood County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup, driven by 32-year-old Christopher T. Nicholls, of Palm Harbor, Florida, was traveling north on FM 2580.  For an undetermined reason, the Ford struck a southbound 2016 Mitsubishi SUV head-on.  The driver of the Mitsubishi, Krystal Lee Shelton Snyder, 39, of Granbury, was transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.  Nicholls was transported by air ambulance to John Peter Smith hospital in Fort Worth with undisclosed injuries.  A four month old, male, infant that was restrained in a child passenger seat in the Mitsubishi sustained critical injuries and was flown by air ambulance to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth.  The crash remains under investigation.
