Deputy Involved Accident Results In No Injuries

Granbury- On Wednesday September 12, 2018 at approximately 8:06 am, the Texas Highway Patrol was notified of a minor crash on State Highway 171 in Cresson Texas. The Trooper arrived and found that a Hood County Sheriff’s Deputy, who was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe Police vehicle, was traveling east on Pittsburg Street and came to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of SH 171. Traffic was heavy in both directions on SH 171. After a slight break in traffic the Deputy attempted to turn left onto SH 171 and struck a 2006 Mitsubishi driven by Raul Sanchez, 23 of Ft. Worth, on the front left side with the front right side of the Tahoe. The Mitsubishi was traveling north on SH 171. Both vehicles came to stop near the shoulder of the north bound lane on SH 171. The contributing factor in the crash was the Deputy failed to yield right of way at a stop sign. The driver of the Mitsubishi did not have a driver license.  

 No Injuries were reported.
