Deeds Responds to the recent Dallas Shelter in place order

by | Mar 22, 2020

We are monitoring the situation in Hood County and what is happening in our surrounding counties. We have not had a positive test for the virus as of 6pm on Sunday but with cases so close to us it is possible that could happen. Dallas County is at 131 and Tarrant county is at 47 confirmed cases. This is serious and should be taken serious and staying at home self isolating and using social distancing is very important to do to stay health. I am not sure if an order to shelter in place will happen in hood county if people try to avoid getting out if they do not have to. But my staff and I will continue to serve and protect the good people of Hood County, and we will work with Judge Massingill and EMC Jay Webster to do what is needed to keep our citizens safe and health now and for the future.    Thing are running smooth now and calls for service have been down so it gives my deputies more time for patrolling and looking out for citizens and there property. People are working with the rules of the orders in place now so they are all doing there part to help keep everyone safe.

Sheriff Roger Deeds
