The city beach park at 505 E. Pearl st. had been temporarily closed since July 5, while the city implemented additional safety measures, following two drownings in the last 3 weeks.
Here are the additional measures that have been taken:
- Perimeter buoy markers were provided by the Brazos River Authority, and were installed at depths of 5.5 to 6 feet
- The Granbury Police Department will have officers provide security services.
- All visitors must enter the City Beach park from the west entrance, (near the bathrooms/parking)
- The city staff is in the process of researching and developing a crowd capacity policy.
