by | Sep 26, 2017

GRANBURY – On September 26, 2017 at approximately 9:15 a. m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a two vehicle fatality traffic crash at the intersection of Farm-to-Market (FM) Road 167 and Old Granbury Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 1997 Nissan Altima was traveling east on Old Granbury Road and stopped at the intersection with FM 167.  The Nissan then failed to yield right-of-way to a 2017 Dodge Journey that was traveling south on FM 167.  The Nissan pulled out in front of the Dodge and the Dodge struck the Nissan on the driver’s side, according to TxDPS Staff Sergeant Richard A. Hunter.

The driver of the Nissan, Peggy Lynn Barnett, 55, of Mineral Wells died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.  An adult male passenger in the Nissan sustained undisclosed injuries and was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth by air ambulance. The driver of the Dodge, Ashley Marie Newton, 30, of Granbury, and an infant passenger were transported to Lake Granbury Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

No other information is available at this time.
