Granbury ISD along with the Granbury Chamber of Commerce, held a ribbon cutting for their newly remodeled administration building, which now houses most of the school administration offices. The building was formerly the Crossland Ninth Grade Center, located at 217 N. Jones street.
Speakers at the ceremony included School Board President Nancy Alana, Superintendent Dr. James Largent, Mayor Nin Hulett, and Chamber President Mike Scott.
The building is in it’s fourth incarnation, originally being built in the 1980’s as ‘Granbury Middle School’, then used for an intermediate school, followed by the Ninth Grade Center.
The building now hosts departments for athletics, community education, business, communications, curriculum, facilities / maintenance, human resources, special education, support services, and technology. It also hosts a new school board meeting room with numerous training and conference rooms, but the transportation and most maintenance staff remain at the corner of Hannaford and Rucker streets.
