Suspect Arrested for Assaulting His Mother
On 5-13-19 around 2pm, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3900 block of Winding Way. Deputies discovered David Coy Merrell Jr. (58 yoa) allegedly struck his 77-year-old mother in the arm with an object he was throwing, along with pushing her down during an argument. The victim was not seriously injured during the incident.
Merrell was arrested and charged with Injury to an Elderly Person (felony 3-bond $15,000) and has a Felony Parole warrant with no bond. Merrell is currently in jail at press time.
