Update on Chase Bank Robbery

On 03-09-2019 at approximately 9:40 am, GPD officers were dispatched to a bank robbery in progress at Chase Bank. The suspect reportedly displayed a handgun and demanded $20,000.00. Officers were able to get to the scene very quickly and take the suspect into custody without incident. The suspect was identified as 55 year old Janie Nicholas Koval of Deleon. Koval is cooperating with investigators and admitted that she also stole the vehicle and the gun used in the robbery. She has been booked for Aggravated Robbery, a 1st Degree Felony. The successful outcome in this case is due to the excellent response by patrol officers and by people inside the bank getting critical information to dispatch to assist officers.
