Mambrino Accident Claims Life of One

Granbury – Preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 9:29 pm on Wednesday January 30, 2019  the Texas Highway Patrol was notified of a one vehicle rollover on FM 3210 (Mambrino Highway).  Upon arrival Troopers found that a 2015 Hyundai Sonata driven by Stephen Pengelly, 40 of Granbury, was traveling south on FM 3210 , at a high rate of speed towards the back gate of Pecan Plantation . The Sonata left the right side of the roadway and the driver overcorrected and skidded back across the roadway and traveled into the east barrow ditch and rolled multiple times.  Morgan Lindsey Quarles, a 32 year old female was a passenger in the vehicle and was ejected and suffered critical injuries. She was transported to John Peter smith Hospital in Ft. Worth where she later died. Her husband, Jordan Smith, 32 was also seriously injured along with the driver and both were taken to JPS Hospital in Ft. Worth by air ambulance.

 

This crash is still under investigation. No other information is available at this time.
