Wreck On Mitchell Bend Highway Injures Two

Granbury- Preliminary reports show that on January 16, 2018 at approximately 5:25pm, the Texas Highway Patrol responded to a two vehicle crash on State Highway 144 and F.M. 2425 (Mitchell Bend Hwy) in Hood County. Upon arrival, the Troopers found that a 2005 Saturn driven by Hailee N. Rice, 21 of Granbury was traveling west on F.M. 2425 approaching a stop sign at the intersection of SH 144. A 2010 Lexus SUV driven by Marcie Dorsett, 37 of Granbury was traveling south on SH 144 approaching F.M. 2425. The driver of the Saturn, Hailee Rice failed to stop at the stop sign and entered onto SH 144 where she was struck by the front of the Lexus SUV on the right side of the Saturn. The driver of the Saturn and her passenger, a 15 year old female, were injured and transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Ft. Worth by air ambulance. The driver of the Lexus was not injured. Hailee Rice was cited for disregard stop sign.
