Lightning Causes Explosion South of Tolar

At 2:26pm Tolar. Indian Harbor and Granbury Fire Department’s were dispatched to an explosion call in the 7200 block of Hill City Hwy , south of Tolar. A lightening strike ignited a fire in several gas line tanks, causing the explosion.   The highway was closed until about 6 pm. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire. Additional assistance was provided by the Somervell County Fire Department. The Hood County Sheriffs Office along with Texas DPS Troopers provides traffic control around the scene. The Hood County Fire Marshal’s Office investigates the fire. Hood County Emergency Management and Commissioners provided additional assistance.  There were no injuries reported.
