2 suspects jailed over stolen trailer

On 8-19-18 around 3pm, Hood County
Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested Thomas
Chance Malone (33 yoa) and Garrett Scott Vaughan (33 yoa) for Theft (state jail felony). Malone has a parole warrant also.
The charge stems from both of them being in possession of a stolen utility trailer taken from the 7400 block of Fall Creek Hwy.
Two observant and diligent citizens helped solve the crime.
One was asked by the suspects to buy the stolen trailer at a discount price and the other citizen heard the police scanner
traffic on the theft and called in the location of the suspects.
The owner of the trailer did not know his trailer had been taken until the first citizen called.
We would like to thank the 2 citizens for their quick action on this case and helping us solve this crime and recovering the trailer for the victim.
Both are currently in jail at press time.
