Intoxicated man breaks in home
On 8-13-18 around 1am, Hood County
Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the
6700 block of Rash Ct. ref. a burglary in
progress.
Deputies discovered Darren Leigh Fine (49
yoa), who was intoxicated, allegedly kicked
open the homeowner’s front door and
made entry.
The homeowner confronted Fine with a
baseball bat and convinced him to go
outside. When Deputies arrived Fine was outside the
home searching through the homeowner’s
car and was placed under arrest.
The homeowner and his family were not
injured, just a little shook up over the
incident.
Fine was charged with Burglary of a
Habitation (felony 2-bond $30,000).
Fine is currently out of jail on bond at press
time.
“Warning to intoxicated people, Texas law
allows a Homeowner that is in fear of his or her life to shoot/use deadly force on a
would-be burglar that may be there to steal
or harm someone. So drink responsibly, when it comes to alcohol and stay out of other people’s homes”.
