March 21, 2018: Search efforts have resumed on Tuesday, March 20th once fires were confirmed burned out. 27 year old Dylan Mitchell is still unaccounted for and presumed deceased at this time. Recover efforts are underway but are difficult due to the chemicals still present in the area.

Press Release from Johnny Rose of Hood County Sheriff’s Department:
On 3-15-18 around 945am, Hood County
Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call of an
explosion and possible chemical fire at the
Tri-Chem Industries at the 2600 block of
Cresson Hwy. in Cresson Tx.
One person was severely burned and one is
missing as of press time and the scene is
still active.
DPS will release further information when it
develops.

Around 9:30am responders were called to a possible commercial structure fire at the 2600 block of Cresson Highway. Initially, one person reported unaccounted for. Medical has been called to scene for at least ONE injury.
At this time, traffic is shut down on that section of Cleburne Hwy, also known as Highway 171, and firefighters are fighting the blaze. Officials are now determining if an evacuation of any surrounding area is necessary. Please avoid this area at this time.
