2016 – Burglary Reports Fell, Assault Reports Increased

​Hood County Crime by the Numbers

  •  We had no murders in 2016 as compared to 2 in 2015.
  • 14 adult Sexual Assaults were reported in 2016, up from 2 adult Sexual Assaults in 2015.
  • 523 Assaults were reported in 2016, up from 360 Assaults in 2015.
  •  129 Burglaries were reported in 2016, down from 155 Burglaries in 2015.
  • 269 Thefts were reported in 2016, up a little from 263 Thefts in 2015.
  • 28 Motor Vehicle Thefts were reported in 2016, down from 31 Motor Vehicle Thefts in 2015.

 “I’m glad to see burglaries down from last year and no murders at all. As for the violent crimes such as assaults, we do our best to make people behave, but we can’t be everywhere.”
