On 12-5-17 around 1pm, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 5500 block of Mesa Loop ref. a burglary call. The burglary investigation led them to the 5000 block of Enchanted Ct. for a second burglary.
Deputies searched the home and located Nicholas Brandon Riggs (33 yoa) hiding in a closet. Riggs was non-compliant with Deputies commands and resisted arrest. Riggs, who was in possession of a knife, cut a Deputies’ hand during the arrest.
The Deputy was not seriously injured during the incident. Deputies also found Tiffany Blythe Boatman (28 yoa) hiding in the attic of the home. Riggs was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer (felony 1-bond $50,000), Burglary of a Habitation (felony 2-bond $25,000), and Resisting Arrest with Weapon (felony 3- bond $20,000).
Boatman was arrested and charged with Criminal Trespass of a Habitation (class A misd-bond $2,500).
The case is still under investigation by Hood County Sheriff’s Office Investigators.
Both suspects are currently in jail at press time.
