No one injured in deputy involved accident

Hood County Sheriff’s Report:

On Thursday, October 5th around 12:30pm Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were responding to a burglary in progress call at the 300 block of Granda Calle St. While en route, Deputies were told the suspect had left the scene towards Weatherford on Weatherford Hwy.
A Deputy was traveling northbound on Weatherford Hwy and Walden Rd. trying to catch up with the suspect vehicle. The Deputy topped a hill and a vehicle traveling southbound was making a left turn and the Deputy didn’t have time to stop and struck the other vehicle on it’s rear passengers side.
According to Johnny Rose, No one was injured and the burglary case is still under investigation.

 

TxDPS Report:

GRANBURY-  On October 05, 2017 at approximately 12:53 pm., the Texas Highway Patrol investigated a two vehicle crash on Granbury Highway (F.M. 51) and Wallen Road in Parker County.

Hood County Sheriff’s Deputy Steven K. Smith 38 of Granbury was traveling north on Granbury Highway in a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe with his emergency lights and siren activated responding on a call. As Deputy Smith came over a hill on Granbury Highway, a 2014 Cadillac SUV, driven by Vicky Pruitt, 68 of Arlington, was traveling south on Granbury Highway and started to turn left onto Wallen road.

Deputy Smith took evasive action and swerved to the left  to avoid the Cadillac but struck the back right of the Cadillac.

No injuries were reported, according to TxDPS’s Sgt. Dub Gillum.

No other information is available at this time.
