Road Rage incident leads to drug arrest

On Thursday, September 28th around 8pm, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatch to Monroe Hwy. and Temple Hall Hwy. in reference to a road rage incident.
The incident started at Temple Hall Hwy. and Hwy. 377 East over an alleged suicide threat.

The two drivers, who knew each other, engaged in a high speed chase and ended up at the intersection of Monroe Hwy. and Temple Hall Hwy. Both then exited their vehicles and proceeded to get into an altercation.

Deputies, who were en route to the call, were told by dispatch that shots were being
fired.
The shots fired was discovered to be 18 year old Kaitlynn Lee Rodgers slashing her friend’s vehicle tire. In return, the friend then slashed Rodgers’ tire.
During the rumble, Rodgers, who was intoxicated, threw rocks at her friend’s vehicle, breaking a window.
She then fought with Deputies that were trying to arrest her.

Surprisingly, no one was injured during the incident.

Rodgers was found to be in possession of
under a gram of marijuana wax.

Rodgers was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled
Substance (state jail felony-bond $5,000),
Resisting Arrest (class A misd-bond $2,500),
and DWI with open container (class B misd-bond $1,000).

Rodgers is currently in jail at press time.

“Yet another example of why drugs should
be illegal and we shouldn’t drink and drive.”
