Hood Co. Man Charged With Robbery

Suspect assaults and robs woman

On June 30th of 2017, Hood County Sheriff’s Office Investigators charged Steven Ray McGowan, 34 years old, with Robbery (felony 2-bond $20,000), who was arrested on May 11th of 2017 for a parole warrant and placed in the Hood County Jail.
The Robbery charge stems from an incident on April 29th when McGowan assaulted a 40 year old female who was assisting his girlfriend in an attempt to get away from him after an argument.
During the incident, McGowan rammed the victim’s head against her own vehicle and took her car keys. He then left in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim received head trauma, but was not seriously injured.

McGowan is currently in jail at press time.
