Man arrested after shooting at Deputies
On Sunday, February 5th around noon,
Hood County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the
6200 block of Maine Trail for a disturbance call.
Deputies received a report that 62 year old
Michael Lynn Ice allegedly threatened his
60 year old wife and his 81 year old
mother in-law during an argument.
Ice, who was armed with several firearms,
refused to speak to Deputies or exit the residence,
which began the 5 hour standoff in the
Lake Granbury Harbor neighborhood.
During the standoff, Deputies were able to
get the two females safely out
of the home through a window.
Ice fired multiple rounds at SWAT team
members, who were there trying to resolve
the standoff.
Around 5 pm, Negotiators were able to talk
Ice out of the home where Deputies took
him into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported and the case is still
under investigation by the Hood County
Sheriff’s Office.
Ice was charged with 2 counts of
Aggravated Assault on a Peace officer
(felony 1), Terroristic Threat on a Family
Member (class A misd), and Assault Family
Violence (class C misd).
Ice is currently in jail at press time and will
see a Judge Tuesday Morning for a bond
amount.
