Mayor Nin Hulett, members of our local government, and members of the Granbury Optimist Club, gathered at the Granbury City Park to hold a ribbon cutting for the new playground equipment. The previous equipment had been on the location for over 20 years.

The playground was a joint effort between the City of Granbury, and the Granbury Optimist Club. The city had wanted to remodel the park, but lacked the funds to do so. Even when the city partnered with the Optimist Club, sufficient funds were still lacking. Parks Director Aaron McLain was then able to negotiate a lower price with contractors in order to get the job done.

“It was a great pleasure to partner with the city and make this happen”. – President of the Granbury Optimist Club, Mark Jackson

The new playground now hosts educational material, larger-scale equipment, and new swing sets.
