Pecan Plantation community organizations are launching a holiday food drive designed to address food insecurity in the local area. The initiative, running from November 10 through November 14, is being coordinated by Pecan Plantation Neighbors Helping Neighbors in partnership with Pecan Plantation Volunteer Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services.
The drive aims to collect non-perishable food items to support residents facing food challenges during the holiday season. Organizers have specified a list of needed items to ensure donations meet community needs. Requested items include toilet paper, peanut butter and cheese products, hamburger helper, diabetic-friendly items, canned fruit, feminine hygiene products, child-friendly items, crackers, spam, Glucerna, sugar or low-sugar products, instant oatmeal, and boxed stuffing mix.
Community members can contribute by delivering donations to the Monticello EMS Building located at 9518 Monticello. For additional information or questions regarding the food drive, individuals can contact organizers at 817.894.0143.
The collaborative effort reflects an ongoing commitment by local emergency services and community organizations to support neighbors in need during the holiday period.
