Observance Ceremony For Fallen Officers at Jim Burks Firefighter Memorial Park @ 9 A.M.

by | Jul 7, 2017

July 7th is a somber day for Texas

In Dallas, 1 year ago, officers were gunned down. Lives were lost. A bill was passed by our House and Senate to use July 7th as our (Texas) day to remember our fallen officers.
This is not to be mistaken for our National Day on May 1st though.

Tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. located at the Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial Park on Travis Street, please join Mike Lang, Mel Birdwell, Mayor Hulett, Sheriff Deeds and Officer Russell Grizzard for a short 15 minute ceremony to remember those fallen in the state of Texas.

This is short notice but if you are able to attend, please do so.

Also, to mark the one-year anniversary of the attack on Dallas law enforcement, and in honor of all peace officers across Texas, Governor Greg Abbott today issued a statewide call to stand with law enforcement in Texas. Governor Abbott is asking all Texas Law Enforcement officers to turn on their red and blue lights for one-minute on Friday, July 7th, at 10:00 a.m.

So, don’t be surprised if you see our great officers flashing their lights tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. Just join them in the moment and pay your respect to fallen officers everywhere.
