Always the season for scams

The Hood County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people to continue to remain vigilant and on guard with the ever changing schemes and scams the world and the web have to offer.
Here recent people are receiving phone calls where the caller identifies themselves as working for the Hood County Sheriff’s Office asking for donations. This is a scam.
If you are offered free money and asked to send money to get it. This is a scam. Clicking on a link on your computer, that
you have a virus and need help. This is a scam.
Scams change through time, but the end result is taking your money.
Don’t fall for the scam and if you have questions, please call the Hood County Sheriff’s Office and speak to a Deputy or Investigator.
