Granbury Group Finds Ways to Honor Fallen Veterans During Coronavirus Pandemic

Granbury, Texas – In order to follow Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s guidelines for gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Friends of Memorial Lane Foundation is offering an online presentation for residents to use as a connection to their Memorial Day Ceremony.
“We are living in a challenging time … a time when gathering to honor and remember our heroes may not be possible,” said Julia Pannell, Chair of the Friends of Memorial Lane Foundation. “We have provided a place for residents to safe distance, without a gathering, to both honor and remember our fallen.”
The online tribute can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0aRwWToX60&feature=youtu.be
The Friends of Memorial Lane Foundation will also host a 12-hour event on Memorial Day, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial Park that will feature patriotic music, Flags at Rest, and a memorial wreath.
“Memorial Day isn’t just about honoring veterans; it’s honoring those who paid the ultimate sacrifice! Veterans had the ability to come home … our fallen did not. There are no words that adequately express America’s deep appreciation for these heroes; but there are actions! Take time every day, not just Memorial Day, to say thank you to our veterans and to remember our fallen.”
