Free School Meals Continuing All School Year

Granbury ISD Child Nutrition

All Granbury ISD students will continue receiving free breakfast and lunch every school day throughout the 2020-21 school year, after the U.S. Department of Agriculture extended allowing school districts to operate under summer guidelines to provide free meals to all students.

This includes in-person students attending school on campus as well as GISD@Home Virtual Instruction students.  Students may still purchase a la carte entrees, side items, and snacks. In addition, students may also choose to bring their own lunch.

Meals are also available for children in the community aged 18 and younger as well as enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old.

Pick up is available at two locations:

  • Granbury ISD Administration Building, 217 N. Jones Street – north parking lot closest to bus barn, 11am-12pm
  • Acton Middle School, 1300 James Road – back entrance to school next to bus loading zone, 10:30-11:30am

Meal pickup at STEAM Academy at Mambrino will be discontinued after Friday, October 30 due to low participation.

If the child(ren) is not in the vehicle, parents or guardians must present one of the following forms of identification for the child:  birth certificate, student ID card, student report card, or attendance report from Skyward Family Access.

Although all students are receiving free meals, GISD highly encourages all families to complete the free and reduced-price meal application. Applications are available at all campuses and on the GISD website at www.granburyisd.org/childnutrition

If approved for free and reduced meals, other benefits available to families include:  discount for Extended School Day Program; discount or waiver for college applications; Hood County Christmas for Children; Operation School Supplies; reduced rates for the SAT, ACT, and PSAT; support for dual credit tuition, support for Advanced Placement exams; and more.

For questions, please contact the GISD child nutrition department at (817) 408-4085.
