Granbury Police Week, National Peace Officer Memorial Day During Week Of May 14th

May 4, 2017

During the May 2nd City Council Meeting, May 14th-20th was officially recognized as Police Week in the City of Granbury.

The City encourages all patriotic, civil, and educational organizations to observe the week with appropriate ceremonies in which all of our people may join in commemorating police officers, past and present.

During that week, Monday, May 15th is nationally recognized as Peace Officers Memorial Day in honor of those peace officers who, through their courageous deeds, have lost their lives or have become disabled in the performance of duty.

Keep in mind, this is a Nationwide recognized memorial day for fallen Peace Officers. You should be seeing the flags around town flying at half staff. If you are a local business owner flying a flag, be sure to observe this holiday.
