Hood County Observes Texas Fallen Officers Day – Photos

by | Jul 7, 2017

This morning at 9 a.m., Community members and officials gathered at the Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial Park on Travis Street for a short 15 minute ceremony to remember those officers fallen in the state of Texas, including one very close to our hearts, Sergeant Lance McLean, who was gunned down by a suspect just a little over 4 years ago in our community. Although word of the ceremony was last minute, the community did not disappoint with the turn out!

Below are pictures from the ceremony:

Please, take a moment out of your day to pay respect to the lives that have been lost while protecting the lives of others. If you see an officer, say a quick thanks. You may just brighten their day!
