The election determined representatives for three positions—Places 5, 6, and 7—each serving three-year terms. Voters from Hood, Johnson, Parker, and Somervell counties participated in the election.

Preliminary results show Dr. Calvin Lawrence won Place 5 with 6,880 votes, representing 55.26 percent of ballots cast. Competing candidate Monica Brown received 5,570 votes, or 44.74 percent.

Barbara Townsend secured Place 6 with 7,066 votes, capturing 56.40 percent of the vote. Her opponent, David Rogers, received 5,463 votes, accounting for 43.60 percent of the total.

In the Place 7 race, Stuart Neal prevailed with 6,678 votes, representing 53.97 percent of votes cast. Jessica Wark received 5,696 votes, or 46.03 percent.

The election results remain unofficial until formally canvassed on Monday, November 17, during the district’s regular monthly board meeting.

Granbury ISD Superintendent Dr. Courtney Morawski offered remarks following the preliminary vote tallies. “On behalf of Granbury ISD, I want to congratulate Dr. Calvin Lawrence, Barbara Townsend, and Stuart Neal on their election to the Board of Trustees,” she stated. “We appreciate their commitment to public education and Granbury ISD. I look forward to working alongside them as we continue our mission of supporting student success and strengthening our schools.”

Board President Courtney Gore similarly acknowledged the newly elected trustees. “Congratulations to Dr. Calvin Lawrence, Barbara Townsend, and Stuart Neal on their election to the Granbury ISD Board of Trustees,” she said. “I’m excited to partner with our newly elected trustees as we continue serving the students, staff, and community of Granbury ISD.”

The election adds three members to the district’s governance structure as it moves forward with leadership responsibilities affecting students and staff across the region.
